Bistro Barbu @ Arcades Currimjee, Curepipe.

Since the opening of the new “food court” in the Currimjee Centre,
I have lost count of the number of times I’ve been there lol.
And now having been to Bistro Barbu, I can safely say that I
have been to all the food places there! Lol #truefoodie
Bistro Barbu is run by a young, dynamic duo.
It is so lovely to see passionate people who are
competent at their jobs. We had a slight issue with the
fries but they were able to deal with it quickly and efficiently.
The bistro is quite small in size but I think that’s what makes it
all the more charming. It looks very rustic and old-school.
Being called “Barbu”, which translates to “Beardy”,
they have several portraits of bearded men on the wall.
This reminds me of Bistro Moustache in Tamarin.

What’s with all the facial hair-related bistros? Lol 🙂

As you get seated, they bring you the menu:

I really loved the presentation of the menu and also the concept.
For example, you can order a standard salad but at an extra cost
you can add different toppings like chicken, bacon, fish or ham.
Same goes for the baguette sandwich.
I loved the salad!
Lettuce, rocket, cherry tomatoes, a mix of grilled veggies,
sunflower seeds, parmesan shavings and dressing with chicken as a topping.

This is only half a portion as I was sharing.
The Burger Barbu was soooo good!
They didn’t ask me how I wanted my burger cooked
and it slipped my mind to tell them. I was served a slightly
pink patty. I usually prefer mine cooked med to well
but it turned out ok and I really enjoyed it.
It has a huge beef patty, bacon, avocado, caramelised onions,
lettuce and homemade sauce on a soft brioche bun. Yum!
It was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time.

Ordered some homemade wedges as a side.

The only disappointment of the whole meal was the fish and chips.
The fish was overcooked and quite hard and not crisp.
It was still edible though lol.

A lovely hot cup of cappuccino to accompany the meal.
Overall, everything was really pleasant and I would
recommend that you try them out 🙂

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
